Harpeth Capital Announces Addition of J.W. “Wally” Dant to Advisory Board

Harpeth Companies, the parent company of Harpeth Capital, is pleased to announce that Wally Dant has joined the Firm’s Advisory Board.

Wally is President / Distiller of Log Still Distillery in Gethsemane, Kentucky, a project he began over two years ago to lead the Dant family back into the bourbon business, continuing a family legacy of eight generations.  He previously owned and operated a wine and spirits distribution business in Tennessee, BonusBev, which recently sold to a larger distributor so he could concentrate his efforts on the distilling project and campus.

Wally has had a long and distinguished career in the healthcare field.  He co-founded myNEXUS in 2014 as a specialty benefit management company working with insurance members that need services in the home.  myNEXUS recently announced the successful sale of the company to Anthem.  Prior to that, he was the co-Founder and CEO of SunCrest Healthcare, developing this home care and hospice company from start-up to approximately $100 million in revenue before its sale to Almost Family in December 2013.  Previously, he was a director with Navigant Consulting, a leading healthcare consulting firm.  Prior to Navigant, Wally served as SVP-Operations for HCA’s home care division during a time when HCA had more than 400 home care locations generating over $1 billion in revenue.

His career started at Brown-Forman in 1986 in brand management and later in human resources.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a MBA from the University of Louisville.  Wally also serves on the Advisory Council for one of the largest non-profit senior services organizations in middle Tennessee, Fifty-Forward, along with numerous other non-profit organizations.
