Harpeth Ventures Announces Investment in Polaris AI

Harpeth Ventures Opportunity Fund is pleased to announce a growth equity investment in Polaris AI (“Polaris”).  Based in Nashville, the Polaris solution addresses the scheduling and labor pain point faced by healthcare providers across the country with an initial focus on various departments within hospital systems.  Polaris was launched by the data science team at SwitchPoint Ventures, a creator of custom AI-driven solutions for organizations seeking transformation through machine learning, and is led by Dr. Sam Clemmons, an emergency medicine physician with more than 25 years of experience growing and leading operations for independent physician groups, including American Physician Partners and Elite Emergency Services.

Predicting provider demand has long plagued healthcare administrators focused on optimizing scarce resources in the most cost-efficient manner.  Polaris’ solution utilizes AI proprietary machine learning algorithms to predict provider demand, distribute clinician resources to meet that demand, and optimize clinician schedules.  It caters to physicians and nurses alike and is applicable to any practice area or specialty.

Ray Guzman, SwitchPoint co-founder, said, “We are excited to have Harpeth Ventures as an investor in Polaris.  Their knowledge of healthcare and strong industry network will be a valuable addition as Polaris continues its bright future.”  Added Dr. Clemmons, “Polaris’ proprietary offering has been extremely well received, gaining traction with some of the nation’s largest health systems.  Moving forward, we see Polaris as a necessary, standard industry tool for efficient staffing.”

Said Chuck Byrge, “We are very excited to have the opportunity to partner with SwitchPoint and Sam on this opportunity.  We seek investment opportunities that have a high value proposition to the healthcare industry and Polaris is already proving to be highly beneficial.”

Polaris is the second investment by the Fund, which was founded last year by the principals of Harpeth Capital to target venture stage investments primarily in the healthcare sector.  Mr. Byrge will be joining the Polaris Board of Directors.
